Vishnupathi Days before May 2009
Before Sathguru Venkataraman, Vishnupathi was just a line in the
panchang calendar, but the Sathguru taught the world that Vishnupathi is a time for Vishnu Bhakti - a time for pure, unalloyed love and devotion for Lord Sriman Narayana - a time to be spent in worship and fond remembrance of the divine leelas that Lord Narayana did for the sake of His devotees.
Sathguru Venkataraman gave us the Siddha Secret of the 9 hour worship of Lord Narayana from 0130 hours to 1030 hours on each Vishnupathi day.
For the past 15 years, our monthly magazine has featured articles on Vishnupathi as taught by Sathguru Venkataraman.
Through these numerous articles in our monthly magazine that contained heretofore unknown Siddha revelations on more than 50 Narayana temples, many of them in ruins, Sathguru Venkataraman made the public realize the importance of the Vishnupati auspicious time period.
Many of these temples have now been renovated and some have had their kumbhabhishekam ceremony done.
Our thanks are due to the Siddha Sathguru Venkataraman for giving us the Vishnupathi worship procedure - yet another Siddha secret that we can put to good use on the path of spiritual upliftment.
What is Vishnupathi?
The word Vishnupathi has many meanings but what we are interested in here is that auspicious time period that occurs once in three months and is known as Vishnupathi Punya Kaalam.

On each Vishnupathi day, the nine hour period from 0130 hours to 1030 hours IST is of great spiritual importance, said Sathguru Venkataraman. We have mentioned this numerous times before.
Since the Vishnupathi auspicious time period occurs once in three months,
there are four Vishnupati time
periods in each varusham (year). But each Vishnupathi period of each varusham (year) is unique in its own way. Since each varusham repeats once
in 60 years, each of these Vishnupathi periods occurs once only in 60 years.
In other words, if you miss celebrating one Vishnupati, you will
have to wait 60 years for the next one! Hence seize the moment and celebrate each Vishnupathi on its day
in accordance with Siddha procedures.
The Vishnupati auspicious time period marks that time in a different era during which
Lord Narayana performed miracles for the sake of His devotees.
Why is Vishnupathi so special?
As we have pointed out for the past 15 years in
Sri Agasthia Vijayam, our monthly magazine,
and also through articles in this website (see links below),
spiritual aspirants can make great spiritual progress
by following specific worship procedures revealed by the Siddhas of the Agasthiar Guru Parampara Lineage for each Vishnupathi.
But what makes Vishnupathi so special? We quote from our article on Vishnupathi written in February 1999:
|
Vishnupathi = abode of Vishnu; also, Vishnuhood.
Punya Kaalam = auspicious time; spiritually potent time period.
So Vishnupathi Punya Kaalam means the auspicious time of Vishnu.
It's a very special time period in the spiritual world.
It occurs once in three months and lasts around nine hours.
|
|
Why is it special?
|
| - | Because in this time period God as Sri Maha Vishnu performed many miraculous deeds for the benefit of the universe. |
| - | In this time period many great devotees reached the abode of Sri Maha Vishnu. |
| - | In this time period many great devotees merged with Sri Maha Vishnu thus attaining Vishnuhood. |
| - | It's a time period when Sri Maha Vishnu continues to perform many many miraculous deeds out of His compassion for the universe and the souls that abide in it. |
| - | It's a time period when Sri Maha Vishnu's already boundless compassion flows freer than usual. |
| - | It's a time when the Siddhas work harder than usual in elevating souls towards Sri Maha Vishnu. |
| - | It's a time when spiritual progress is a lot easier to achieve than usual. |
...from our February 1999 article on Vishnupathi. |
Our Vishnupathi articles describe the Siddha worship procedures as given to us by
the Sathguru, Guru Mangala Gandharva Venkataraman.
These articles also describe the great spiritual events that happened during each Vishnupathi in a different yuga.
Please refer to our monthly magazine for details and perform Vishnupathi pooja as described therein.
As with all poojas, the Lord blesses the devotee with both spiritual and material wealth, provided you take the time and effort to do the puja yourself.
We pray that Vaishnavites and Narayana devotees everywhere will make it a point to observe these most important Vishnupathi worship procedures, as revealed to us by the Siddhas, in all Narayana temples everywhere.
