Siddha Secrets - Vishnupathi - on 13 Feb 2011 - in Thirumeeyachur

Lord Sri Simmendra Perumal of Thirumeeyachur The Siddhas of the Agasthiar Lineage refer to Lord Sri Veetrirundha Perumal as Simmendra Perumal. This is the ancient name of the Lord here. It is now given to the world for the benefit of devotees everywhere. The divine names Simmendra Perumal, Simhendra Maha Vishnu and Simhendra Narayana can all be used along with the current name of Veetrirundha Perumal to refer to the Lord here. Lord Veetrirundha Perumal is seated on a Simha Peetam of two lions. This is not that common. Hence, devotees are urged to visit this sacred space and get darshan of this rare form of the Lord here. This sacred space is so exalted that it can decide the moksha state of beings. This sacred space can give one the blessings of Tharpana Shakti in their most complete form.

Karma and this Sacred Space of Simmendra Perumal As we have said many times, the law of karma is inexorable. The way karma is nullified has been laid out by the siddhas and rishis: First, one must repent sincerely for whatever wrong one has committed. This is the first step. If others have been hurt, one must repair the wrong. This is the next step. One must then steel oneself for the punishment that is due, accept it serenely and experience it calmly while diligently practicing the specific darshan, worship, vrata, seva and dhaana procedures that help nullify this particular instance of bad karma. Furthermore, one must resolve not to repeat the wrong again. This vow of non-repetition (of mistakes) is crucial in the karma neutralization process. This sacred space is a "judgement space" for determining the fruits of the vrata vow practices that one has observed (fasting vows, worship vows, seva vows and so on). Bathing in sacred temple ponds can help greatly in the karma workout process. "ALL" Seated Forms of Maha Vishnu The darshan of Lord Sri Veetrirundha Perumal in Thirumeeyachur gives humans and Devas the benefits of having had the darshan of the "seated forms" of ALL Narayana (Maha Vishnu) manifestations. Of the many different darshans of Lord Narayana Maha Vishnu, four are special: the standing form, the seated form, the reclining form and the walking form. This has also been described elsewhere in our website. The special Siddha ridddle for 2011 is: "In 4, One. 4 is One. Inside 4, One. As 4, One." One of the many meanings of this riddle is Lord Simmendra Perumal's divine form blessing us with the benefits of having had the four kinds of special darshans of Lord Narayana mentioned above - In 4, One. 4 is One. Inside 4, One. As 4, One.

Lord Indra Lord Indra is the King of the Deva celestial beings. Indra is also Lord of the Eastern Direction - the Ashta Dik Palaka of the Eastern direction. Ashta Dik Palakas = Eight Guardians of the eight directions. (Refer to Sathguru Venkataraman's elaborate Siddha writings on the Ashta Dhikku Paalakas.) This is an exalted post and thus Indra is a worshippable deity. How many Indras? Indra is a title, not one specific being. There have been many Indras and there will be many more. Sathguru Venkataraman said that there have been more Indras than the number of sand particles on the bed and banks of the entire stretch of the River Ganges (Ganga). Understanding this statement of the Sathguru is essential for grasping the magnitude of the Yoga of Time. How to get this exalted Indra post? So how does one become Indra? By very long term worship of many Swayambhu (self manifested) forms of Lord Shiva and Vishnu. Only those who worship the Indra Lingam in Arunachala over many lifetimes with deep devotion and sincerity can get the Indra post, said Sathguru Venkataraman. [ Indra's darshan of all swayambhu (self manifested) deities... Vasanta Sri Panchami day of the "Thai maasam" (mid Jan to mid Feb)... Lord Simmendra Perumal of Thirumeeyachur worshipped by every Indra of every age... ] It is a rule that every Indra must have darshan of Simmendra Perumal in this sacred space before he can set foot in Deva Loka and assume his Lordship there. Thus Indra shows his gratitude to the Lord who protected all the Indras who preceded him and who will protect him and all the Indras yet to come.

Simha, Narasimha and Simmendra [ The great Tamil poet Kamban. His Kamba Ramayanam - the story of Lord Shri Ram in Tamil. Its unveiling ceremony in Sri Rangam. Lord Narasimha expresses His approval - Simha Nadham. The Simhendra Madhyamam Raaga used by Kambar. Sathguru Venkataraman said that the "Azhagiya Singan" Narasimha form is the most beautiful form of Lord Narayana Maha Vishnu. Parthasarathi Temple in Triplicance, Chennai where Lord Narasimha blesses us as Azhagiya Singan - the Beautiful Lion. The poet-saint Bharatiyar worshipped regularly in this great temple of Parthasarathi. Swami Vivekananda had darshan in this temple too during his stay in Chennai. ] Ego, Selfishness = Destruction [ The word Simha (Lion) and the immediate thought of Lord NaraSIMHA, the Beautiful Divine Lion... ] Prahlad's Humility Rather than saying that the Narasimha Avatar was initiated because of the great child devotee Prahlada, it is more appropriate to say that because of Prahlad, all the worlds got darshan of this great avatar of Maha Vishnu. (This was a request of of the great Prahlada himself that he placed at Lord Narasimha's Lotus Feet. This very humble, very great devotee did not want people to say that an avatar of his Lord Narayana was initiated because of him. Only when one is so humble can one get the grace of Narayana.) Eternal Warning Using this great child devotee, Prahalad, as a tool, the Lord gave darshan of His unique Narasimha form to all lokas while issuing an eternal warning that ego and selfishness will ultimately lead to destruction. Futility of trying to fool the Divine The evil asura demon Hiranyakashipu had gotten a boon that he could not be killed during day or night, on ground or in air, not by man, animal, deva, asura, not by any weapon and so on. He figured he would create such an intricate net of restrictions that there was no possible way in which he could be killed! He thought that he had fooled God into giving him immortality. This is typical of asura demons and of some humans too. They think they can fool the shakti that is giving them shakti! Sathguru: "He who gives you shakti also knows how to deal with you!" Sathguru Venkataraman used to say that He who gives you shakti knows how to deal with you in the end. Unfortunately, the arrogance of the asura demons (and of some men and women) makes them think that they can fool the One who gives them shakti. This ego is the very seed of their own destruction. Atrocities Galore! Armed with this divine boon, Hiranyakashipu went on a rampage. His evil deeds and atrocities, sparked by his relentless ego and utter selfishness, were countless. He commanded that everyone refer to his pathetic self as God. He ordered that he alone was to be worshipped. This was his arrogant but foolish command. The Ways of the Lord are Unique! Everyone followed this command, but do you know what happened? One person politely disagreed. Do you know who that was? His own son! Crown Prince Prahlad! One of the greatest devotees of Lord Narayana! The ways of the Lord are unique indeed! Drunk on ego and his mind set ablaze by endless selfishness, the demon Hiranyakasipu wanted to get rid of Prahlad. But Lord Narayana saved the child devotee everytime from harm. And finally, the Lord manifested His Narasimha form and destroyed the demon while staying true to every clause of the divine boon that the asura had been given. How? Lord Narasimha stays true to Hiranyakasipu's Legalese! The Lord's form could not be classified as Deva, asura, man or animal. It was half man and half lion. He did not kill him in day or night; he killed him at the meeting point of day and night (dusk). He did not use any weapon; He tore the demon apart with His nails. In this way, Lord Narasimha satisfied everyone of the many clauses of the boon given to the asura! Like Sathguru Venkataraman said, He who gives you shakti knows how to deal with and control that shakti! And thus the limitless ego and endless selfishness of Hiranyakashipu led to his own destruction. Unknown Siddha Secrets regarding Narasimha The story of how Narasimha killed Hiranyakshipu (told above) is well known. But there are so many other aspects of this great divine "leela" that are not known to people. These secrets are known only to the Nava Natha Siddhas who are the witnesses of all Puranic events. In the inner effulgence of the Nava Natha Siddhas, Sri La Sri Idiyaappa Eesa Siddha, the Siddha teacher of Sathguru Venkataraman, dwells eternally. The Nava Natha Siddhas give us the numerous (unknown) secrets regarding the Narasimha form. One of these Siddha secrets involves Mrikandu Maharishi. Simmendra and ALL Maha Vishnu Avatar Forms Thirumeeyachur sacred space - holy ground touched by the Lotus Feet of all Maha Vishnu avatar forms. Every Vishnu avatar spends at least a moment in this sacred space and leaves His avatar shakti here for the benefit of devotees who come here for darshan. Thus, it is easy to get the blessings of the ten Dasavatar forms in this sacred space of Thirumeeyachur. Very interestingly, the Lord's name here does not refer to any one avatar. It just refers to the "seated form" of Narayana. However, since all Narayana avatar forms spend at least a moment in the deity form of Simhendra Perumal, the darshan of this Lord here gets us the benefit (punniya shakti) of having had the "seated form" darshan of all Narayana avatars such as Ulagalandha Perumal, Dhanvantri, Narasimha, Varaha, Hayagriva, Mohini, Vamana and so on. Lotuses - very important in the worship of Mother Lakshmi. Indra's wrong and its bad effect on lotuses. Far reaching evil effects of insalubrious deeds. Withering of lotuses and thus no worship with lotuses. Diminished Lakshmi blessings. Serious consequences world over. ] Guru for Lotuses [ Gurus for every species. Guru for lion (animal) species. Guru for lotus (plant) species. Kamala Maharishi's prayer to Mother Maha Lakshmi. Kamala Maharishi's penance. The Maharishi is blessed by the Mother. ] Kamala Maharishi teaches Indra The Maharishi asked Indra to come out of the lotus stalk the latter was hiding in. He instructed Indra on several sacred spaces and worship procedures therein that will nullify his bad karma. Indra realized that one has to experience the punishment for one's own bad karma and he did so. He also followed the advice of Kamala Maharishi and as a result of his austere vows and worship, the gradual process of karma nullification got started. Indra Redeemed by Simhendra Maha Vishnu As a result of his sincere repentance and serious worship, Indra began experiencing the effects of the bad karma receding from him gradually. And when he reached the sacred land of Simmendra Maha Vishnu in Tirumeeyachur, he was completely released from the bonds of the bad karma of his wrongdoing. Not only was Indra redeemed, but Mother Lakshmi also redeemed the lotus flowers from their withered state. Indra's Worship with Lotuses and Simmendra's Divine Grace Indra did elaborate pooja of Veetrirundha Perumal with numerous lotuses in full bloom. Because ALL avatar forms of Maha Vishnu are in the deity form of Veetrirundha Perumal, Lord Narayana Maha Vishnu took Indra's worship as equivalent to worshipping all His Avatar Forms! Thus Indra was blessed with a solution for yet another of his problems: it was because of him that pooja with lotuses could not be performed anywhere. Thus he became the cause for reduction in worship and so he had to work out this bad karma too apart from the bad karma resulting from his original infraction. However, because his pooja here was accepted by Lord Narayana as worship for ALL His avatar forms, this bad karma was nullified too! Such is the grace of Lord Simmendra Maha Vishnu of Thirumeeyachur! Kodiyalur Sacred Space The sacred space where Kamala Maharishi did intense penance that pleased Mother Maha Lakshmi is the nearby Kodiyalur that is home to Lord Sri Agastheeswara SHIVA and Mother Sri Anandavalli. This Kodialur sacred space is also becoming popular for special worship of Saniswara (Lord Saturn). ]

VAIBHAVA LAKSHMI and Indra's Gratitude Overwhelmed by the divine grace of Simmendra Narayana that solved his huge problem and with gratitude to Kamala Maharishi who showed him the path to this grace, Lord Indra ordered the 330 million Deva celestials (of whom he is the king) to take a solemn vow in the presence of his Maharishi teacher. Mother Vaibhava Lakshmi of the Thirumeeyachur sacred space had given the hint and Lord Indra made it a rule for all Devas. What is this vow? Protection of Women - Indra's Commitment Indra and all the Deva celestials took the vow that every one of them will do regular worship that will result in protection for women everywhere. Thus this Shiva-Vishnu sacred space of Thirumeeyachur has the divine shakti to protect women in all ages and in all places. It is the sacred land of Mother Lalitha Parameswari (in Her famous temple nearby) and also of Mother Vaibhava Lakshmi (Sri Devi) seated next to Simmendra Maha Vishnu (in this sacred space). Note that the Shiva Temple of Thirumeeyachur has two special sacred spaces within one compound. ( This is a rare occurrence and is found only in a few other sacred spaces such as Kanchipuram, Thirupuhaloor and Thiruvarur.) VAIBHAVA LAKSHMI's Blessings in Thirumeeyachur By the divine blessings of Mother Sri Devi who manifests Her Vaibhava Lakshmi shakti in the sacred space of Thirumeeyachur, one can experience the divine grace of ALL Maha Vishnu avatar forms in the deity of Veetrirundha Perumal here. This is an enormously unique blessing that Mother Lakshmi has arranged for us here.
